From the beginning, God created Adam and Eve. They were meant to be together. God Himself said that it was not good for Adam to be alone, as it says in Genesis 2:18: “And the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’” (NKJV)
He also encouraged them to start a family, as it says in Genesis 1:28: “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’” (NKJV)

In other words, God knows our need to belong to someone and our desire to care for others. Feelings of loneliness were not something He intended for us to carry, as it says in Psalms 68:6: “God sets the lonely in families…” (NIV).
If you are struggling with loneliness, try asking God for people who can meet your needs. Stay open to the opportunities that may come your way and to the people who try to connect with you. I know that loneliness can be a dark place, but you do not have to stay there. Do what you can to fill the emptiness in your heart. And remember, as you connect with others, you may also help strengthen other lonely hearts at the same time.

God’s Promises When Loneliness Feels Overwhelming
There are numerous verses in the Bible that encourage us when we feel lonely. Just reading through some of these verses in this blog warms our hearts with the love of God. Therefore, my friend, be of good courage! Keep God’s Word near you, especially in time of need. The God of all comfort is present and wants to help you. We can come to Christ Jesus again and again, filling our hearts with the love of Christ. Every morning, we can come to Him. Just see the verse below:

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

And there is nothing that can separate us from His love. I can come to Him with all the troubles of my heart, and He will still love me just the same. As it says in Romans 8:38-39 (NIV): “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Then, when a family member or even our parents fail us, the loving God has promised to take care of us. The Psalm 27:10 (NKJV) says: “When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.”

Therefore, remember this: You are not alone—never. You have a very present help with you at all times. You simply need to accept and receive it. The peace of God is ever present. As it says in Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) : “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” Think about it: we have an everlasting God who wants to help us and be part of our daily lives. Invite Him into your heart and let Him be your “way of escape,” where you find peace, trust, and hope. For me personally, I have often found that the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is the strength of my heart. He is the “spring of water” where I can experience fullness of joy. God’s comfort is immeasurable.
Remember, though, that just as much as you need God, you also need people in your life. God created us as social beings, as I mentioned at the beginning of this blog. Do not allow the days of your life to become filled with loneliness. Maybe you can take the first step in this process and invite people over to your own home? My experience is that when I invite people over for dinner, I realize that I am being blessed by it even more than I thought I wanted to be a blessing for others. As a mother of 4, my first defense to invite people over is often that I have enough workload already, but the thing is that giving is such a blessing itself—to give and be a blessing. As it says in Proverbs 11:25: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (NIV). The word of God is so true!
In the season of loneliness, try to hang in there and remember that there is something better to come. There is a better place for you because of Christ’s sufferings. He is now in Heaven preparing a new place for us. Jesus said in John 14:2-3 (NKJV): “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
Just think about being in God’s presence in Heaven. Let it sink in—Him giving you a hug and looking you in the eyes. Pondering on these things might help you get through the difficult times here on earth and remind you that the seasons of loneliness on earth are just a season. Things will get better. While living on earth, we are just trying to manage. Remember this verse in Romans 8:18 (ESV): “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” We were made for eternal life of happiness and joy.

The Heavenly Kingdom, were the Son of God reigns, is our true home. While we journey through this life, we may face seasons of pain, loneliness, and uncertainty, but they are temporary. Hold on to faith, knowing that God is with you in every step. Let hope anchor your heart and strengthen your spirit, until the day we fully experience His presence, peace, and everlasting joy forever in Heaven, our true eternal home with God Almighty.
